Bad Piggies |  $.99

The creator’s of the smash hit, Angry Birds, are back with a game that provides a different perspective on the war between the pigs and the birds, but with the same addictive game play.  Bad Piggies is the story of the pigs making their great escape with stolen eggs over 84 different levels. Players must use their ingenuity to drive, fly, and crash through obstacles to advance through the increasingly difficult situations. You will have over 30 different objects to create the perfect get-away machine for your pig to get through the dangerous levels. The familiar 3 star system keeps players coming back for more until they complete the level with the optimal amount of points. Getting 3 stars not only means you successfully passed the level in the best way possible, but also unlocks more levels for you to explore. Shockoe believes that this a worthy successor to the incredibly successful angry bird series and is a must have for your ipod/iphone.

App of the Week | June 15th

iPhone/iPad

Figure| $0.99

Ever find yourself tapping your pen on your desk or humming the beat to your favorite song? Well now there’s an easy way to translate those musical habits into music. Figure is a fun new iOS app that gives even the most novice of users the ability to create inspirational tunes on the go. Controlled by an incredibly easy to use touch interface, Figure gives you drums, bass and lead synth, leaving your track sounding great literally in seconds. With the power of Reason’s synthesizers and drum machine Figure creates truly professional grade sounds, making it a must download for any music enthusiast. As far as we’re concerned, $.99 is a steal for the features that have been packed into this app. For a better look at how the app works check out their promo video here.

Android

Shazam | Free

We feel that sometimes it is necessary to applaud those apps that have been around since the beginning. Believe it or not there used to be a time when it would take hours to figure out the name of the song that was playing on the radio this morning during you drive to work, or the  killer set that the DJ played last night at the club. This time period, commonly referred to as BSZ (before Shazam) was one that very few of us can even recollect. Shazam, now in its tenth year, features outstanding support music, videos, brands, advertisements and much more, on almost any device out there. With some of its most recent updates for Android, widget tagging, artist tour dates and live lyrics view (great for anyone who loves karaoke) Shazam has really taken its app/enterprise to the next level. If you don’t have it…you need it! And if you do… keep SHAZAMING!

App of the Week | February 3rd

iPhone/iPad

Call of Duty Elite | Free

Any gamer can appreciate the world’s most popular first person shooter that is Call of Duty. Now, as third-party ‘add-on’ to their latest saga Modern Warfare 3, Activision has now taken the action on the go with their new iOS (and Android) COD Elite app. Whether you just want to check your KDR (Kill /Death Ratio), change your kill streaks, or even create custom classes on the fly, this app has it all.  There is definitely something to be said for around the clock access to Call of Duty and for CODers of every level this free download is one that will easily bring your game to the next level.

Android

Osmos HD | $4.99

Finally the award winning iPhone sensation has come over to the Android market, and in amazing HD fashion I might add. For those unfamiliar with Osmos the objective of this microcosmic game is to survive, absorb smaller organisms and grow—but beware of larger predators! Winner of multiple “Game of the Year” awards, Osmos features unique physics-based play, stellar graphics, and a hypnotic soundtrack of ambient electronica. The first couple levels should prove to be fairly straight forward for any user, but as you move up in the ranks of evolution the real challenge begins. Addictive would be a severe understatement for this app, and although $4.99 might seem a little steep the hours of fun and entertainment are well worth the price!
